In line with the Environmental Quality Act 1974, which governs the amount of noise that is permissible by law (Part IV, Prohibition and control of pollution, Regulation 23, Restrictions on noise pollutions), businesses have to adhere to certain limits when it comes to noise pollution (see detailed guidelines below).
If you are concerned about the noise your business makes, or have received complaints about it, our technicians are fully certified to carry out full inspections as per the Malaysian Recommended Noise Monitoring Guidelines created by the Department Of Environment. The following parameters will be measured:
- Equivalent Continuous Sound Level (LA eq)
- Statistical Indices (LA10,LA50 and LA90)
- Maximum Noise Level (LA max)
- Minimum Noise Level (LA min)
After inspection, recommendations to reduce sound levels will be provided if necessary.
Ambient Noise/ Boundary Noise Level Monitoring
If your business is is chemical based or uses chemicals, then you are liable in line with USECHH Reg.2000 to make a written assessment of the risk created by the chemical used in the workplace.
